Plums

pic We specialise in plums and are always looking at new varieties. We try to have a series of varieties that ripen from mid July through to the end of September.

After a few indifferent flavoured ones we start the season with the wonderful Lancelot (unique to us),followed by Brighton Belle, Avalon, Excalabur, Victoria, Marjories Seedling and the yellow Warwickshire Drooper. New for this year we have another late one which we have called Guinevere.

Our damson variety is Shropshire Prune, which surely has the best flavour of all the damsons.

Poor weather during pollination means that this year crops are very light, especially the early varieties.
After a great plum year last year we might have expected a poor one this season, but at the moment it all looks very good
