Strawberries

We try to choose a range of varieties to give excellent flavoured fruit through June and July. This year we start the season with Darlisette, a French variety with good flavour early on. Next comes Delia,a new variety from East Malling Research,which has been badly grazed by rabbits in the spring and will not crop well.Then Sonata which looks like becoming the standard strawberry for the UK market. Florence has been our own long term favourite and we have another late July variety called Amelia. Finally Judibell should take us to August. |
