Windmill Hill is a 22 ha fruit farm situated in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The site was chosen for fruit growing because it is out of the frost pockets in the valleys, and this elevation has the benefit of marvellous views over Bewl Water and the surrounding countryside, which is a patchwork of woodland and small mixed farms.
There is ample parking at the farm, and space for picnics. Toilets.
We aim to facilitate fruit picking for those with disabilities wherever possible, though the nature of a farm is such that we cannot always allow cars near the crops.
A great country pub, the Bull, borders the farm at Three Leg Cross, and there are many others nearby – The Bell and The Cherry Tree in Ticehurst.
Other local attractions include Batemans, Scotney Castle, Bedgebury Pinetum and Pashley Manor Gardens. Go to www.ticehurst.info for more information.
