This week’s fruit update:
Some of the weather may make it feel as though we are already in Autumn, and the fruit is following suit! It is a transitional stage of the season, with traditional Summer berries cherries and currants now at an end, and the full Autumn selection of plums apples and cobnuts not yet fully available. However, that does not mean there is nothing to pick!
Raspberries are still going strong after a few years in the wilderness, and will continue over the next few weeks- a true 2021 star! £6.00 per kilo
Blackberries and Rhubarb also give ample opportunities for pie, crumble and jam making- they are still available at £5.80 per kilo and £2.40 per kilo respectively
We will continue to have Blackcurrant Trays as our harvesting of the fields continues – 3 kilo (£7) and 8 kilo (£14) trays available – while stocks last!
And our Lancelot Plums have started – a particularly good crop this year, a plum we are proud of – well worth coming down for! £2.40/kilo
